One way to put a SMILE on the faces of pediatric patients is to send
them a care package. Lydia LOVED receiving care packages and it
definitely brought a smile to her day. You too can put a SMILE on the
face of a child battling cancer, and you can help their families with some
of the financial burden associated with a chronic illness.
Here's how YOU can help pediatric cancer patients and their families:
1. You can make a monetary donation to Lydia's Hope using the
PayPal button on the homepage. Your money will be used for:
purchasing gas cards and other gift cards for pediatric cancer patients
and families; care packages delivered to both inpatient and outpatient
pediatric cancer patients who are referred to us; assisting with "Wish
Trips" for pediatric cancer patients; defraying some of the costs
associated with Bone Marrow donor drives; funding research through
the Children's Oncology Group, CureSearch, St. Judes, and other
reputable research institutions.
2. You can DONATE items that are handmade, such as blankets, quilts,
pillows, or dolls, or items that are purchased NEW, such as stuffed
animals, art supplies, books, crafts, etc. Please contact us at
lydiasmama@lydiascancerhope.com about where, when and how
donations can be mailed/shipped.
3. COMING SOON: You will be able to purchase items from this
website, the profit for which goes right back into Lydia's Hope and is
used as specified above. Because Lydia's Hope is an all-volunteer
organization, and has minimal overhead, we make sure that your money
is going where you want: to support pediatric cancer patients and their
families.
